TWIN ENGINE announced that the Vinland Saga anime series is confirmed for a second season. The announcements comes on the second anniversary of the TV anime series airing in Japan.
It also confirmed returning staff Shūhei Yabuta as the director and Takahiko Abiru as the character designer.
Vinland Saga won the Anime of the Year Award during the 6th Anime Trending Awards in 2019. WIT Studio was in the charge of the animation production of the first season with Shūhei Yabuta as the director, Hiroshi Seko as series composer, Yutaka Yamada as music composer, and Takahiko Abiru as character designer.
Sentai Filmworks is releasing the home video in North America later this year. Amazon Prime Video is currently streaming the first season and describes the show as:
Around the end of the millennium, Viking, the mightiest but atrocious tribe, had been outbreaking everywhere. Thorfinn, the son of the greatest warriro, lived his childhood in the battlefield. He was seeking the land of reverie called Vinland. This is the story of a true warrior in an age of turmoil.
The original manga series is written by Makoto Yukimura and published in the Monthly Afternoon magazine by Kodansha in Japan. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga series in English.
