Love Live! Superstar!! Trailer Reveals July 11 Premiere

The upcoming Love Live! Superstar!! anime has received a new trailer and a premiere date of July 11. 

The trailer offers a preview of the main character’s voices, with the cast including Sayuri Date as Kanon Shibuya, Liyuu as Tang Keke, Nako Misaki as Chisato Arashi, Naomi Payton as Sumire Heanna, and Nagisa Aoyama as Ren Hazuki. The PV also offers another look at the show’s colorful visuals, which were first shown off in a now-unavailable teaser trailer.

Love Live! Superstar!! is set in an all-girls high school called Yuigaoka and will follow five freshmen who form an idol group. The group’s name, Liella, was decided in September 2020 via a vote. Their debut single, “Hajimari wa Kimi no Sora,” (“The Beginning is Your Sky”) received a music video on January 30. The music video became available for purchase from April 7 via two releases with slight B-Side variations, “Minna de Kanaeru Monogatari” (“A Story Brought To Life By You”) and “Watashi o Kanaeru Monogatari.”

The staff includes Takahiro Kyōgoku (Land of the Lustrous) as director, Jukki Hanada (Granbelm) as series composer, Yūhei Murota (Love Live! Sunshine!!) as original character designer, Atsushi Saitō (Blackfox) as character designer, Reiji Kasuga (Is the Order a Rabbit? Bloom) as art director, Rie Katō (Meiji Tokyo Renka) as color designer, Tadashi Hikaoka (Azur LaneBisoku Zenshin!) as photography director, Yuki Īnuma (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) as CG director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as music composer. Sunrise is in charge of the animation production.

The anime’s premiere window was announced in February, while the show itself was announced in January with the tagline, “Watashi o Kanaeru Monogatari.” It is part of the Love Live! multimedia franchise that began in 2013.
