The upcoming Crunchyroll x Adult Swim original anime Fena: Pirate Princess has received a new trailer via DMM Pictures’ YouTube channel (it’s labelled as the first trailer, but it’s technically the third to be released).
While the new PV shares many scenes with Crunchyroll’s English-subbed trailer, it does offer some new scenes that show protagonist Fena Houtman learning archery and the armored costumes of her Oriental allies. The trailer also previews Yuki Kajiura’s soundtrack and reveals an October release date (Crunchyroll lists a Summer 2021 release).
Additionally, there are slightly more plot details revealed, such as protagonist Fena ending up on an “island of prostitutes” called Shangri-La after surviving a ship attack 10 years before the events of the main story, and the item left for Fena by her late father being a mysterious gem.
Aside from the new trailer, the anime also received a key visual and several character visuals.
As was previously revealed, the staff of Fena: Pirate Princess includes Kazuto Nakazawa (B: The Beginning) as the director and original story creator, Asako Kuboyama as the screenplay writer, and Yuki Kajiura (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as music composer. Production I.G. is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Asami Seto as Fena, Ryota Suzuki as Yukimaru, Takahiro Sakurai as Shitan, Aoi Yūki as Karin, Gen Satō as Enju, Ryota Ōsaka as Kaede, Jun Ōsuka as Tsubaki, Shintaro Tanaka as Makaba, Manabu Muraji as Salman, and Hiroaki Hirata as Otto.
