Dassai sake producer Asahi Shuzo Co, Ltd. is holding a special Evangelion collaboration event at its flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo. The event will run from June 7 to June 31.
The collaboration centers on Evangelion character Misato Katsuragi’s love for Dassai, a popular sake in Japan. The event will see Misato’s dining room being fully recreated for fans to enjoy.
The reproduction of Misato’s dining room will be featured at the back of the store, complete with empty bottles of Dassai scattered around as they were in the anime.
The store will also feature graphic panels displaying the various recurring alarms that appear in Evangelion in the front windows and its interior.
Dassai notes that the bottles it sells are slightly different from the ones that appear in the anime. However, it has made identical bottles for the event to represent Mitsuragi’s room in full detail.
In addition, the designs of the EBISU beer and UCC café au lait cans as depicted in the “original film” were made again with the cooperation of Sapporo Breweries Ltd. and UCC Ueshima Coffee Co, Ltd.
All of the recreated bottles and cans will only be for display and not for sale.
To gain access to the exhibition, customers will have to visit the entrance to receive a numbered ticket. They will be able to enter upon having their number called.
The latest Evangelion film, Evangelion 3.0+1.0, opened in Japan on March 8 after several delays. It is the final and most successful entry in the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy, which began in 2007 and serves as a retelling of 1995’s Neon Genesis Evangelion series.
