Original Anime Do It Yourself Reveals New Visual, Details For Purin

The upcoming original anime Do It Yourself, which was announced in March, has released a new character visual and profile for Purin, one of its main characters.

Purin, real name Miku Suride, is the neighbor and childhood friend of protagonist Serufu, whose character visual was released in April. A student at an elite high school, Purin scores good grades, is of firm character, and is filled with the desire to improve. Purin used to be on good terms with Serufu but has not been getting along with her as well lately. Her nickname comes from her habit of audibly puffing her cheeks when angry.

Do It Yourself is directed by Kazuhiro Yoneda (Gleipnir, Kageki Shoujo!!) and produced by PINE JAM. Other staff include Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Black Clover, Dropkick on My Devil!) as scriptwriter and supervisor and Yuusuke Matsuo (Encouragement of Climb, The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls) as character designer. IMAGO and Avex Pictures are credited as the original creators.

The other main characters in the anime are Kurei, Takumi, Jobko, and Shii. No voice actors have been revealed at the time of writing.

The anime will revolve around six high school girls and the theme of DIY. The introduction about the show hints at a focus on assembling furniture specifically. No release date has been revealed yet.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
