Upcoming Revue Starlight Film Postponed From May 21 to June 4 This Year

The upcoming Revue Starlight film has been postponed from May 21 to June 4 this year. The production committee announced the decision via the franchise’s official Twitter and website, citing the current coronavirus situation and subsequent temporary closure of some theaters to be reasons behind the delay. The statement also mentions that advance ticket sales will continue until June 3, and these advance tickets can still be used for screenings after the postponement.

The upcoming film is a sequel to the compilation film titled Revue Starlight: Rondo Rondo Rondo that aired in 2020. The two films are part of the Revue Starlight franchise, which Bushiroad launched in 2017. The musical Shōjo☆Kageki Revue Starlight The LIVE ran in Tokyo in September 2017, and the anime series aired in 2018. A mini anime titled Shōjo☆Konto All Starlight premiered in 2019. The Revue Starlight Re LIVE smartphone game by Ateam was launched in April 2019 and featured a Steins;Gate collaboration in March of this year.

Returning staff from the anime series include Tomohiro Furukawa as director, Takushi Koide as assistant director, Tatsuto Higuchi as scriptwriter, Hiroyuki Saita as character designer, Sachiko Yasuda (Episode 2 and 6 animation director) as one of the chief animation directors, Kentarou Akiyama and Kenji Fukuda as art directors, Chie Yoshimura as color designer, Kazuto Izumida as photography director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa and Tatsuya Katou as music composers. 

Other staff include Tomoko Sato (Revue Starlight: Rondo Rondo Rondo) as the movie’s other chief animation director and Kamiya Hisayasu (Planet With co-CG Animation Director) as 3DCG director. Kinema Citrus is in charge of the animation production.
