Scarlet Nexus Anime Gets New Trailer, Cast Details, July 1 Asia Premiere

Funimation has published a new trailer for the upcoming Scarlet Nexus anime, an adaptation of BANDAI NAMCO’s “brainpunk” action RPG. The streaming platform’s blog also revealed the cast details and character art for the show. 

Playing the roles of main characters Kasane Randall and Yuito Sumeragi are Asami Seto and Junya Enoki respectively. The other cast members include Yuri Horie as Arashi Spring, Rota Takeuchi as Gemma Garrison, Yomomi Mineuchi as Hanabi Ichiio, Daisuke Namikawa as Kagero Donne, Yumi Hara as Kyoka Eden, Chinatsu Akasaki as Luka Travers, Kengo Kawanishi as Shiden Ritter, and Marika Kohno as Tsugumi Nazar. 

Funimation did not provide an exact date for Scarlet Nexus‘ Western and Australasian premiere. For Japan and in Asian territories where Ani-One will distribute the anime, the premiere date is July 1. The video game will release on June 25 for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.

The Scarlet Nexus anime was announced in March. Hiroyuki Nishimura (Kurokami The Animation director, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Ep 1 character designer, chief animation director, and key animator) is the director and one of the character designers for the show. 

Other staff include Yōichi Katō (Mazica Party) and Toshizō Nemoto as series composers and scriptwriters, Akiko Inoue (Major 2nd Season 2) as scriptwriter, Itō Yūji (Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Battlefront: Babylonia Ep 9 animation director) as character designer, Osamu Tayama (Juni Taisen: Zodiac War) as art director, Daichi Iseki (No Guns Life) as photography director, and Hironori Anazawa as music composer. SUNRISE is in charge of the animation proudction. 

Funimation describes the anime as: 

Solar calendar year 2020: grotesque organisms called Others have begun eating people. To take down this new enemy, the Other Suppression Force is formed. Saved by this elite team as a child, psychokinetic Yuito withstands the training to enlist. On the other hand, prodigy Kasane was scouted for her abilities. But Kasane’s dreams tell her strange things, dragging the two into an unavoidable fate.
