New Eden Trailer Highlights Its Protagonist and Sci-fi Story

The upcoming Netflix sci-fi anime Eden has received a new trailer, which shines the spotlight on its protagonist and sci-fi story. The anime is set to release on May 27.

Announced in 2019, the movie is set in the distant future in which only robots continue to exist, until a human baby called Sara wakes from stasis. Sara is found and secretly raised by the robots E92 and A37 away from the titular city of EDEN. Meanwhile, a robot leader called Zero is determined to ensure that no human exists in the world.

The staff includes Yasuhiro Ire (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood) as director, Justin Leach as producer, Toshirio Kawamoto and Christophe Ferreira as character designers, and Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss) as music composer. Qubic Pictures and CGCG are producing the four-episode show.

Netflix previously released a release date trailer that focused on Zero and his motives for trying to destroy all humans.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
