A second season of Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club has been announced and is set to premiere in 2022. Further details have not yet been revealed.
The first season of the school idol anime originally aired from October 2020 to December 2020. Its staff included Tomoyuki Kawamura (Mitsuboshi Colors) as director, Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp) as series composer, Takumi Yokota (Warlords of Sigrdrifa) as character designer, Chikara Nishikura (Are You Lost?) as art director, and Daiki Sugiyama (Shironeko Project ZERO CHRONICLE) as photography director. SUNRISE was in charge of the animation production, while the music production was handled by Lantis and SUNRISE Music.
Meanwhile, the first season’s cast included Hinaki Yano as Yu Takasaki, Aguri Ohnishi as Ayumu Uehara, Mayu Sagara as Kasumi Nakasu, Kaori Maeda as Shizuku Osaka, Miyu Kubota as Karin Asaka, Natsumi Murakami as Ai Miyashita, Akari Kitō as Kanata Konoe, Tomori Kusunoki as Setsuna Yuki, Maria Sashide as Emma Verde, and Chiemi Tanaka as Rina Tennnoji.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club is part of the Love Live! multimedia project, which includes other anime as well as various games. The latest anime series in the franchise, Love Live! Superstar!!, is set to premiere in July.
