Japan Post Service Offers Special Pokémon Stamp Box and Promo Cards Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita

The Japan Post Service has teamed up with The Pokémon Company to collaborate on a new stamp collection that will include special promo cards for the Pokémon Trading Card Game.

The Stamp Box will include one type of stamp sheet featuring various Pokémon card artwork, one Family Pokémon Card Game collection, three types of character cards starring Pikachu, Eevee, and Charizard (one each), and two special cards that feature traditional Japanese-style artwork of Pikachu and Cramorant based on the classic Japanese stamps Beauty Looking Back (見返り美人図 /  Mikaeri Bijin-zu) by Hishikawa Moronobu and Moon and Wild Geese (月に雁 / Tsuki ni Kari) by Hiroshige Utagawa. The promo cards are illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, who was the person behind the most iconic Base Set Charizard card which was produced in 1999.

Online pre-orders will open at 9 am JST on July 26, 2021, with the Stamp Box to sell for a total of 4,000 yen ($36.83 USD). The Stamp Box will be released on August 25, 2021. At this current time, pre-orders are only being accepted at your local Post Office branches in Japan.

Japan Post Office will also be selling individual stamps sheets featuring other Pokémon Card Artwork for 630 yen ($5.80 USD) and another sheet themed after the four seasons for 840 yen ($7.74 USD). They will release on July 7, 2021.
