The fifth and sixth Hori-san to Miyamura-Kun OVA episodes are set to release on May 25 in Japan. Both episodes will have a normal and special edition, with the special editions including a slip case and special manga drawn by the manga’s author HERO.
The fifth episode is 22 minutes in length, while the sixth episode is 26 minutes in length. As with the fourth episode, the staff includes Kazuya Aiura as director, Yuniko Ayana as scriptwriter and series composer, and Kenichi Kutsuna and Fumi Kató as character designers, while GONZO is the animation production company.
The OVA episodes were first announced in December 2020. The initial pre-order period was from January 5 to March 25, but pre-orders became available again on March 27.
The Hori-san to Miyamura-Kun OVA began in 2012, with Hoods Entertainment producing the first two episodes and marone producing the third episode. Unlike the recent Horimiya TV anime from Cloverworks, the OVA is based on the original manga by HERO rather than the manga adaptation by Daisuke Hagiwara. The OVA also sports a different voice cast that includes Asami Seto as Kyoko Hori and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Izumi Miyamura.
