The official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Boichi and Riichirou Inagaki’s Dr. Stone manga announced that the anime will receive another sequel. A trailer teasing an adaptation of the “Age of Exploration” arc was also revealed.
Shinya Iino (Revue Starlight, Made in Abyss) returned to direct Dr. Stone: Stone Wars with Yuichiro Kido (Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga, 91 Days) in charge of series composition. Tatsuya Katō (WorldEnd, Revue Starlight), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Children of the Whales, Anima Yell!), and Yuki Kanesaka (Blood Blockade Battlefront) served as music composers, and Yuko Iwasa (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Yowamushi Pedal) served as character designer. The animation production was from TMS Entertainment.
The anime’s main cast includes Makoto Furukawa and Yuusuke Kobayashi as Taiju Ouki and Senku respectively. Other cast members include Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Gen Sato as Chrome, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen Asagiri, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Mugihito as Kaseki, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, and Yuuichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Atsumi Tanezaki as Nikki Hanada, Yoshiki Nakajima as Yō Uei, and Kensho Ono as Ukyō Saionji.
The anime’s second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, premiered on January 14. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan. The season’s final episode aired on Thursday.
The manga launched in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2017. VIZ Media publishes the manga digitally in English and describes the story as:
