Akebi-chan’s Sailor Uniform Anime From Cloverworks Announced

Cloverworks is producing Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku (Akebi-chan’s Sailor Uniform), an anime adaptation of the manga series by Hiro. There is currently no release date for the anime, but the studio released a concept video that offers a glimpse at what the show may look like.

The staff includes Miyuki Kuroki (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia assistant director) as director, Megumi Kouno (Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia creature designer and action director) as character designer, and Rino Yamazaki (DARLING in the FRANXX Ep 7, 9, and 16 script writer) as series composer and script writer.

The Akebi-chan no Sailor Fuku manga began in 2016 and currently has seven volumes. The manga is set in the countryside and follows Komichi Akebi, who has dreamt of wearing the sailor uniform of the prestigious Roubai Private Academy where she will study in. In addition, she wonders if she will be able to make a hundred friends. The story will follow Akebi’s middle school life.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
