An anime adaptation of the The Eminence in Shadow light novels has been announced. The anime is currently in the planning stage.
The light novels are written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Azunishi. The first volume was released in May 2018, while the fourth volume will be released on February 26. There is a manga adaptation with four volumes and a four-koma spin-off with two volumes as well. The manga’s upcoming fifth volume is also due to release on February 26.
Yen Press describes the light novels’ first volume as:
Even in his past life, Cid’s dream wasn’t to become a protagonist or a final boss. He’d rather lie low as a minor character until it’s prime time to reveal he’s a mastermind…or at least, do the next best thing-pretend to be one! And now that he’s been reborn into another world, he’s ready to set the perfect conditions to live out his dreams to the fullest.
