The much awaited continuation of Ufotable’s adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has finally been announced alongside a new teaser trailer. The anime is slated to be released in 2021, with further details to be announced.
Titled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, the story follows on from the record breaking film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, and will cover the manga arc by the same name. The arc sees the crew, accompanied by the Tengan Uzai from the key visual, enter enemy territory to continue their investigation. The Entertainment District Arc covers chapters 70 to 99 of the Demon Slayer manga.
The new TV anime will retain director Haruo Sotozaki, who was at the helm for both the movie and the initial series. He will be joined by previous character designer Akari Matsushima.
The original voice cast, including Satomi Satou (Tenjiro Kamado), Akari Kitou (Nezuko Kamado), Hiro Shimono (Zenitsu Agatsuma), Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Inosuke Hashibara) and notably Katsuyuki Konishi (Tengan Uzai), will all be repraising their roles.
Alongside the teaser trailer and key visual, an official website has been launched to cover any and all information that is currently available.
