Pacific Rim: The Black Anime Gets First Full Trailer

The upcoming Pacific Black: The Black anime has received its first full trailer. Focusing on sibling protagonists Taylor and Hayley, the new trailer goes through the premise of the show and offers a glimpse of its Jaeger versus Kaiju battles.

Pacific Black: The Black previously received a date announcement trailer in February 1. The anime will premiere on March 4.

Pacific Rim: The Black is co-created by Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution). Legendary Television is producing the show, while Polygon Pictures is in charge of animation production. The anime series is scheduled for seven episodes.

Netflix describes the series as

There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
