Soukou Musume Senki Gets New Promotional Video Ahead Of January 6 Premiere

Soukou Musume Senki, an upcoming spin-off of the Little Battlers eXperience series, received a new promotional video ahead of its January 6 premiere.

The PV offers a two-minute long preview of the anime and its character voices, along with Rikako Aida’s opening song “Dream Hopper.” A brief preview video of the anime’s first episode was also released.

The staff of Soukou Musume Senki includes Keitarou Motonaga (all three seasons of Date A Live) as director, Yasuyuki Mutou (Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise) as series composer, Ikumi Hori (Infinite Stratos 2) as character designer, Yasuhiro Moriki (Gundam Build Divers Re:Rise mechanical designer) as Mimesis designer, and Kenji Andou (Blackfox animal drone designer) and Kouji Watanabe (Golden Kamuy Season 3 prop designer) as mechanical designers.

Other staff include Sayoko Yokoyama (Love Live! Sunshine!! and Love Live! Sunshine!! Season 2) as colour designer, Daisuke Negishi (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection assistant art director) as art director, Takayuki Honma (Over Drive Girl 1/6 3DCG supervisor) as 3DCG director, Akio Hayashi (Pastel Memories) as photography director, and Go Sakabe (BAKAMATSU CRISIS) as music composer. Studio A-CAT is in charge of animation production.

The cast includes Rikako Aida (Val × Love) as Riko, Rie Murakawa (both seasons of Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World) as Yui, Saori Oonishi (Monster Girl Doctor) as Kyouka, Ayaka Fukuhara (Sakura Wars the Animation) as Miharu, and Saki Miyashita (After School Dice Club) as Suzuno.

Soukou Musume Senki is based on a reboot of the Soukou Musume simulation RPG by DMM Games and Level-5, titled Soukou Musume Mizel Rem Crisis/Soukou Musume Crisis By The Mizel’s Remnants. Soukou Musume is in turn based on the Little Battlers eXperience series, which consists of several games and anime adaptations. The anime will follow a girl named Riko who, after attending the launch event of a new LBX model, gets transported to a world where humanity is threatened by enemies called the Mimesis.

Correction: An earlier version of this article erroneously stated that Soukou Musume Senki is a 3DCG anime. While there is heavy use of 3DCG, there are also traditionally-animated scenes in the anime.
