Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train’s Tentative Southeast Asia Release Dates

ODEX has revealed the tentative release dates and screening locations for Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in Southeast Asia. The countries included are Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar.

In Singapore, Mugen Train will be released exclusively in Golden Village cinemas starting from November. The NC16 uncut version and the PG13 censored version will have their fan screenings on November 7 and November 14 respectively. Meanwhile, the general releases will be on November 19 and December 3 respectively. There will also be a Japan Import Fan’s Screening, with the NC16 version taking place on December 19 and the PG13 version taking place on December 26.

In Malaysia, the movie will be released exclusively in Golden Screen Cinemas. The fan screening will take place on December 5 while the Japan Import fan screening will be on December 19. The general release has been postponed to February 4, 2021 due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases and time needed for censorship clearance. Brunei will also get its general release on the same date as Malaysia, but no fan screening.

In Vietnam, Mugen Train will be screened at GALAXY Cinemas and other yet-to-be-announced locations. December 19 is the date of the fan screening, while December 26 is the date of the Japan Import fan screening. The movie will receive its general release on January 6, 2021.

In Indonesia, the movie will release in CGV cinemas with more location announcements to follow. The fan screening and Japan Import fan screening will be sometime in January 2021, followed by the general release in February 2021. Odex said that with most cinemas in the country closed because of COVID-19, the release schedule will change accordingly when they reopen.

The same potential release schedule change applies to both the Philippines and Myanmar. For the Philippines, SM Cinemas will screen the movie exclusively, with the fan screening and Japan Import fan screening taking place in January 2021. The general release will be in February 2021.

For Myanmar, MEGA ACE, JCGV Cinemas, and other yet-to-be-revealed locations will screen Mugen Train. The fan screening will be in January 2021 while the general release will be in February 2021.
