Odex has announced the respective dates for the fan screenings and general release of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in Southeast Asia*.
Peter Go, the Managing Director of Odex, revealed during the AFA Station Day 2 stream that there will be two fan screenings of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in October 2020 and January 2021 respectively. The movie will have a general release around January-February 2021.
The October 2020 fan screening will include a free T-shirt while the January 2021 fan screening will include unannounced Japan-imported goodies. Odex mentioned they are aiming for a same-day release as Japan for the October fan screening. In the event of any delays, the October fan screening will occur one to three weeks later than the projected date. The planned price for the fan screening is around S$50.
Go also shared that the movie will have both an uncut version and a cut version in Singapore. The uncut version will most likely fall under an NC16 (No Children under 16) or M18 (for Mature audiences 18 and above) rating, while the cut version will aim for a PG rating so that younger audiences will be able to watch it. The uncut version will be screened first, followed by the cut version three to four weeks after.
According to Go, Odex is planning to finalize more details in mid-to-late September before making an official public announcement about the release dates.
