On Wednesday, August 30, Eleven Arts released a US trailer for the upcoming film A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi). The film is scheduled to launch in US theaters on October 20, 2017.
Today, Cartoon Brew confirmed that Kyoto Animation’s A Silent Voice will qualify to be nominated for the Oscars in the Academy Award Best Animated Feature.

Last year, The Red Turtle, a French-Belgian-Japanese animated film by Wild Bunch and Studio Ghibli, was nominated for the same category.
Koe no Katachi will also qualify for the 4th Anime Trending Awards Best Anime Movie of the Year. Anime Trending Awards is currently scheduled to premiere early 2018.
